The Shoe Project
This project was one of my most fun ones I've done, simply because I experimented and played so much.
I began the project looking at early 2000s Japanese streetwear, my favourite source of inspiration being a book called 'Fresh Fruits' by Shoichi Aoki.
I began building a collection of items with different textures and patterns as inspiration for my designs.
I drew out shapes from what I took from the items, and then started designing my shoes.
My original designs were done by hand on paper, which I then re-drew and edited on procreate, and made my animation showcasing each shoe.
I then went onto a free 3D design app on my Ipad, called Shapr3D, which I created all of my designs in, bringing them to life. I used this to sculpt miniature versions of a few of my shoes with Cosclay, which I then fired, and painted in vibrant colours.
I used these to create moulds which I set Jesmonite in to create different versions.
